Eikestad Nuus

Eikestad Media, publisher of the multi-award winning community newspapers Eikestadnuus and Gazette, walked away with four prizes in Sanlam’s annual competition for Southern Africa’s foremost community newspapers. Eikestadnuus was announced the third best all round newspaper with a weekly circulation of less than 15 000. Editor Elsabé Retief was awarded third prize in the category for editorial comment. She impressed the panel of judges with her hard-hitting editorial comment on local issues. Eikestadnuus's sister publication, Gazette, won the first prize in the category for best front page design (free sheets). Gazette is designed by the award-winning graphic artist Brandon Booth.
